Genesys Works

Ever thought gaming could solve our tech talent crisis? ๐Ÿš€

Skillquest and Genesys Works Twin Cities collaborated on a game-changer: a LIVE esports programming battle. Hereโ€™s the scoop:

๐Ÿ” The Program: In Genesys Works Summer Training, 250+ students coded their way into a live STEM/esports tournament at Wisdom Gaming [Mall of America].

๐ŸŽฎ The Twist: Students used Python to program bots that play Rocket League. Most started with zero coding experience! It all culminated in a LIVE event.

๐Ÿค The Spirit: Students cheering each other on. The camaraderie was palpable – the kind you need to break into tech.

๐Ÿ”ฅ The Need: An impending 80M-person tech talent shortage globally. In the Twin Cities alone, we’re staring at 80,000 open tech roles, with only a fraction being filled by local graduates.

๐Ÿ’ก The Impact: Inspire and identify the next generation of tech talent through real impact. Genesys Works student stats:
– 98% BIPOC
– 54% women
– 100% need-based backgrounds

๐Ÿคฏ The Change: These young professionals get internships at companies like Target, Medtronic, and Best Buy during their senior year. I wish I could have started exploring my career that early!
