Ramsey was one of almost 300 rising high school seniors who took Skillquest’s Rocket League Bot building course to learn Python over the summer in preparation for a 12-month-long technical internship.

Not only did Ramsey earn her spot in a competitive internship, she ALSO took home the FIRST PLACE prize at Skillquest’s end-of-summer Rocket League tournament, using the code she wrote to emerge victorious in the friendly competition against her peers.

The fun twist: Ramsey almost backed out of the competition the morning of because she was so nervous that her bot wouldn’t perform well. We are so happy that she decided to push back on her nerves with confidence, giving her creation life and putting it out into the world for others to see and learn from!

Here’s what she shared about her Skillquest experience:

“Looking at Rocket League from a coding perspective and from the perspective of making our own bots was indeed very interesting and enjoyable, and the Rocket League Tournament was also just lots of fun overall.”

What’s Next for Ramsey?

Currently, Ramsey is completing her senior year of high school while building and honing her technical skills as an IT Intern at Be The Match. She hopes to pursue a career that will allow her to merge her passion for fashion with the tech skills she’s learning.

We can’t wait to see where tech takes you, Ramsey – and CONGRATS again on taking home the first place prize. 🏆 🎮 🎉
